Terms of Use

1. User Agreement

By accessing OriginsVault, you enter into a user agreement with the operator of the OV (OriginsVault) platform and agree to the following terms.
If you do not agree to these terms, you must refrain from further use of the platform. The rules published here apply to the use of the platform at all times.
The user agreement is concluded for an indefinite period and can be terminated by either party at any time without notice.

2. Granting of Usage Rights

By creating a post, you grant the operator a simple, unlimited, and free right to use your post within the OV platform.
The usage rights granted under Section 2 remain valid even after the termination of the user agreement.

3. User Responsibilities

By creating a post, you confirm that it does not contain content that violates applicable laws or public decency. In particular, you declare that you have the right to use any links and images included in your posts.
The owner, support, and official helpers and scouts of OV exercise the house rules. For violations of these terms of use or other rules published on the platform, the owner, support, and official helpers and scouts can temporarily or permanently exclude you from using OriginsVault and issue a ban.
You acknowledge that the owner, support, and official helpers and scouts are not responsible for the content of posts they did not create or were not aware of. You allow the owner, support, and official helpers and scouts to delete or block your user account, posts, and features at any time.
Furthermore, you allow the owner, support, and official helpers and scouts to modify your posts if they violate the aforementioned rules or are likely to harm the operator or a third party.

4. Data

Registration
All data collected during registration is treated confidentially. Passwords are encrypted in our database. Users can delete their user accounts and all associated data from our system.*

*Forum posts are anonymized, not deleted. A note of the username, date, and time of deletion is created. Users with a "ban" cannot delete their accounts while the ban is active.

Applications
All information and data submitted in applications are used solely to evaluate the applications for honorary roles and are handled confidentially by the support team before being deleted after evaluation. Personal data such as first and last names, addresses, personal resumes, photos, dates of birth, etc., are not required in applications. Minors must inform their legal guardians before applying. Applications are solely for honorary roles.

5. Warranty

The operator is liable, except in cases of injury to life, body, or health and breach of essential contractual obligations (cardinal obligations), only for damages resulting from willful or grossly negligent behavior. This also applies to indirect consequential damages, especially lost profits.
Liability towards consumers, except in cases of willful or grossly negligent behavior or damages resulting from injury to life, body, or health and breach of cardinal obligations, is limited to typically foreseeable damages at the time of contract conclusion and, in other respects, to the typical average damages under the contract. This also applies to indirect consequential damages, especially lost profits.
Liability towards entrepreneurs, except in cases of injury to life, body, or health or willful or grossly negligent behavior by the operator, is limited to typically foreseeable damages at the time of contract conclusion and, in other respects, to the typical average damages under the contract. This also applies to indirect damages, especially lost profits.
The liability limitation applies similarly to the employees and agents of the operator.
Claims under mandatory national law remain unaffected.

6. Right to Modify

The operator is entitled to amend the terms of use and privacy policy. The changes will be communicated to the user via email.
The user is entitled to object to the changes. In the event of an objection, the contractual relationship between the operator and the user is terminated with immediate effect.
The changes are considered accepted and binding if the user agrees to them.
